NBA Shocker: The emotional response of LeBron James during the Bryce James State Championship game was captured on camera.
As he heals from a groin injury sustained earlier this week, LeBron James is still not in the Los Angeles Lakers lineup
James went to Sacramento, California to watch his youngest son, Bryce James, play in the high school state championship game, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes.
James’ older brother, Bronny James, was not in attendance, as he suited up for the Lakers on Friday night against the Denver Nuggets. As for Dad, (LeBron) James remains without a timeline to return to action for the Lakers.
Sierra Canyon, the team that James played for, faced Lincoln High of Stockton in the CIF Division I California state basketball tournament.
James and his wife Savannah were spotted sitting in the front row at (Bryce) James’ final high school game, which took place inside Golden 1 Center, the home of the Sacramento Kings.
Sierra Canyon scored five points with a shot with barely 17 seconds left in the game. At least one camera captured LeBron James’s emotions as he rejoiced as though he had just won another NBA championship.
Sierra Canyon would win the Division I, California state championship with a final score of 58-53. James had a rough game, scoring only three points and only making one of nine field goals.
In program history, the triumph was Sierra Canyon’s fourth state title.
“This game was all about will and want-to,” Sierra Canyon coach Andre Chevalier reported after the match. James, who will transfer to the University of Arizona the following year, played in his last game of high school.
During his time in college, James has committed to playing for the Wildcats.
