TRADE REPORTS: The Eagles’ proposed trade includes the irate defensive leader of the Bengals for $20 million.

After defeating the Kansas City Chiefs in the Super Bowl, the Philadelphia Eagles will try to maintain the team as intact as possible so they can contend again in 2025.

Among the many free agents the Eagles must choose from is linebacker Zack Baun, who just finished a stellar season in which he was selected to his first Pro Bowl.

According to Spotrac, Baun is expected to sign a two-year, $19.4 million contract after attracting a lot of attention on the open market.

There will be a significant hole in the defence if Philly is unable to re-sign him.

In addition to Baun, Nakobe Dean once again showed himself to be unreliable after missing the final three playoff games due to injury,

and Oren Burks is also a prospective free agency.

The Draft Network’s Justin Melo thinks the Eagles might consider Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt,

who recently requested a trade, if they decide they need to add a linebacker.

Oren Burks and Zack Baun are two of the four linebackers the Philadelphia Eagles have set for free agency.

Both veterans were instrumental in the team’s victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.

Burks recorded five tackles, and Baun made a crucial interception.

Howie Roseman, general manager of the Eagles, isn’t scared to make a trade. In recent offseasons,

he has acquired linebackers like Shaq Leonard, Burks, and Zach Cunningham, demonstrating his preference for seasoned players. In the 2025 NFL Draft,

Pratt ought to be traded for a late-round pick. Right now, the Eagles have three fifth-round selections.

Pratt had been viewed as a potential cap casualty this offseason following a string of poor seasons.

If the Bengals do decide to part with the former third-round pick, they would undoubtedly prefer to trade him first. The Eagles would be a perfect fit for Pratt.

He has demonstrated himself to be a capable leader in Cincinnati and has experience wearing the green dot.

Despite his lack of coverage, Pratt’s 70.1 Pro Football Focus score in that area shows that he is a solid run defender. Additionally, throughout the last two seasons, the veteran has recorded an incredible 261 tackles.

Melo notes that considering Pratt’s struggles, he shouldn’t be expensive in a deal.

the previous two years and is currently in the latter year of his $20 million deal.

Additionally, because the trade request is public and Pratt will probably be cut if he isn’t dealt,

the Bengals have little negotiating power.

According to Over the Cap,

the Bengals have $46.2 million in cap space,

which puts them in a strong financial position. However, if they choose to re-up with players like Trey Hendrickson, Tee Higgins, and Ja’Marr Chase, they will need to free up additional money.

Pratt’s trade or cut would release $5.8 million.
