NEWS INFO: In three weeks, one of these former Cowboys coordinators will cap off Super Bowl LIX as a coach.

Officially, the Cowboys will be sending a former coordinator to the Super Bowl.

You don’t always realize what you have until it’s gone.

Many Dallas Cowboys supporters are experiencing that emotion following the

advancement of two of their former coaches to the NFC Championship game.

The Washington Commanders surprised everyone on Saturday

uby defeating the Detroit Lions, who were ranked first,

45-31.

The Philadelphia Eagles then defeated the Los Angeles Rams 28–22 on Sunday.

Two former Cowboys coordinators will suddenly be vying for the opportunity

to travel to New Orleans and participate in Super Bowl LIX.

Dan Quinn lived in Dallas for three years. The Cowboys finished in the top seven in points allowed in each of the

three seasons he was in charge, after allowing a franchise-worst 473 points in 2020.

In his first two seasons, his defense was among the league’s

top pass-rushing units and finished first in the league in takeaways.

He had the impression that time was running out and that

he would soon be a head coach somewhere else again as soon as he set foot in Texas.

He traveled to Washington during that season. One could feel his presence right away.

The Commanders had their best season in more than three decades thanks to a new offensive coordinator

in Kliff Kingsbury and a gifted rookie quarterback in Jayden Daniels.

m me For the first time since their 1991 Super Bowl-winning season,

they had more than ten wins in a season, finishing 12-5.

The Commanders are now participating in the NFC Championship game

in Quinn’s debut season with the squad.

Kellen Moore played and coached in Dallas for three and five years, respectively.

Before assuming the role of offensive coordinator the next year, where he remained for four seasons,

on he served as a quarterback coach in 2018.

In two of his four seasons, Moore’s offenses finished first in total yards,

demonstrating their effectiveness.

Moore went west to take over play-calling with the

Los Angeles Chargers in 2023 after the Cowboys decided to

give Mike McCarthy more offensive authority despite his success.

He became the new offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles this season,

and he helped them have one of the league’s top attacks.

The Eagles are back in the conference title game for the second time in three years, driven by a

potent rushing attack that keeps moving down the field.

Quinn and Moore were both employed by the Cowboys not too long ago.

Having these two made us feel lucky at times, but some fans

were agitated when the club failed to make the playoffs.

Both teams placed in the top seven in terms of points scored or allowed

during the two seasons that these two coached together.

The Cowboys had never before achieved such a feat in

These two are currently assisting two other NFC East teams in making it to the Super

Bowl, and one of them

will undoubtedly win. As he continues the Commanders’ Cinderella tale, will it be Quinn?

Or will it be the feared Eagles, who have made three trips to the Super Bowl in the previous eight seasons?

Regardless, we are certain that it won’t be Dallas and that these coaches,

whom we once took for granted, will be celebrating in the locker room of another team.
